It is unlikely the water was 60 degrees when we got in at Seal Beach this morning at 6:30. One surfer followed us in, but otherwise it was a lonely place. The barge carrying returning and picking up oil platform workers pulled up on the opposite side of the pier as we swam out. Conditions were rainy, breezy, and choppy - what I like to call texture. Pictures didn't come out well at all on the first part of the swim due to low light conditions. The sky brightened up some on the way back. Honestly, I don't ever remember feeling like I swam as slow as it felt today. There were times I swore I was moving backwards. We warmed up with Mark over coffee and hot chocolate afterward.
